No appointment needed. Colds, flu and fever, ear, throat, chest, urinary and skin infections, rashes and allergies, cuts, sprains and minor burns. Check in at the desk with your health card; patients are seen in order of arrival, and last walk-ins are taken before closing. Chest pain, trouble breathing, a serious injury or signs of a stroke belong in an emergency department: call 911.
Ongoing care from one doctor who knows your history, for every member of the family. Check-ups, prescriptions, referrals, results and the long-term conditions, all in one place. Ask the desk whether the clinic is currently accepting new patients; families can register together.
Well-baby visits, immunizations on the Ontario schedule, growth and development checks, school and camp forms, and the fevers, ear infections and rashes in between. Bring the yellow immunization card to the first visit.
Pap tests and cervical screening, contraception, menopause, pregnancy planning and early prenatal care, and the questions that are easier to ask a family doctor you know.
Annual check-ups, blood pressure and cholesterol, prostate and testicular concerns, sexual health, and the screening due for your age. The visits men tend to put off, made quick.
Medication reviews, blood pressure and diabetes, falls and mobility, memory concerns, and the paperwork that comes with age. Family members are welcome in the room.
Diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma and COPD, high cholesterol and heart disease, managed on a plan with regular follow-ups, lab work on schedule and medication adjusted as your numbers change.
Seasonal flu shots, routine childhood and adult vaccines, and catch-up doses if your record has gaps. Bring your immunization record if you have one.
Annual physicals, blood work, blood pressure, and the screening that is due for your age: Pap tests, mammogram and colon-screening requisitions, diabetes and cholesterol checks. Third-party physicals for work, school or a licence are available; these are not covered by OHIP.
Renewals for medications you already take. Bring the bottle or a photo of the label. Some medications need a visit rather than a phone request; the desk will tell you which.
Referrals to specialists, requisitions for blood work, imaging and other tests. Results come back to the clinic; book a follow-up to go through them.
A first conversation about low mood, anxiety, stress or sleep, treatment where it helps, and a referral to counselling or psychiatry when more is needed.
Wound care and dressing changes, suture and staple removal, ear syringing, cryotherapy for warts, and other small procedures that do not need a hospital.
Confidential testing for sexually transmitted infections, treatment, and partner advice. Results are reviewed with you at a follow-up.
Tuberculosis skin tests for work, school, volunteering and immigration. The test is placed on one visit and read 48 to 72 hours later, so plan for two visits.
Which vaccines you need for where you are going, how far ahead to start, and prescriptions for the trip. Some travel vaccines are not covered by OHIP.
Practical help with weight, sleep, movement, diet and quitting smoking. Small changes reviewed at each visit rather than a lecture once.
Sick notes, school and work forms, insurance and disability forms, driver's medicals. OHIP doesn't cover these, so there is a fee; ask the desk before the visit.
Not covered by OHIP: sick notes, employer and school forms, travel vaccines and some tests. Ask the front desk about the fee before the visit so there is no surprise afterwards.
